Press releases in the announcement category serve the purpose of communicating changes within a company to the rest of the world. Changes within a company are newsworthy sometimes depending on the reason for the change, but oftentimes they are announcements regarding new hires to the executive team, a change in the Board of Directors, attendance at a special conference, corporate relocation, a company name change, product changes or price alterations, awards earned, and other specific "events".
