Barnes was honored by the Boys & Girls Clubs of the Capital Area with the prestigious Champions for Youth Award, given annually to individuals who have provided the Boys & Girls Clubs with leadership, support and resources.
The award has previously been given to such esteemed philanthropists as Donna and Phillip Berber and Darrel and Edith Royal, who have been gracious in their support of the Boys & Girls Clubs. In his capacity as Chairman for the Boys & Girls Clubs of the Capital Area, Ben Barnes has been an integral component to the success of the Clubs. Barnes has been unrelenting in his support of the youth, and has provided the group with his sound leadership, personal resources, time and immeasurable effort to ensure the Boys & Girls Clubs of the Capital Area are as strong as they possibly can be.
Ben Barnes and his wife Melanie have steadfastly supported the Boys & Girls Clubs and are unwavering in their commitment to the ongoing improvement and enhancement of the non-profit's services. The couple actively supports a vast array of charities that run the gamut from education and athletics to children's causes and the arts. As the former Lieutenant Governor of Texas, Ben Barnes has the leadership skills and the dedication necessary to lead the Boys & Girls Clubs of the Capital Area into the future.
